Job summary

Gemaire is seeking a Counter Sales Associate to join our HVAC distribution team. You will manage the sales counter, assist customers in product selection, process orders, and maintain showroom merchandising to ensure a positive customer experience.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in counter sales, strong communication, and a customer-focused mindset. This on-site role offers standard business hours with occasional Saturdays and competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year experience in a Counter Sales role, preferably in the HVAC industry.
• Proven success in sales and providing excellent customer service.
• Strong interpersonal skills including sales, problem solving and customer service.
• Ability to work independently but meet assigned goals and objectives in designated time frames.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal teams, outside sales representatives, vendors, and contractors.
• Enter customer orders and assist customers in selecting products by asking targeted questions.
• Recommend alternative or substitute products based on availability.
• Research and source products using multiple tools to meet customer specifications.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding product information, pricing, quotes, and pickup or delivery timelines.
• Proactively communicate with customers regarding order status, delays, or potential issues.
• Process billing, accounting, and shipping functions to ensure timely invoicing and accuracy.
• Formulate and maintain product folders and price sheets as required.
• Complete the full sales order process while upselling related items.
• Manage showroom merchandising, including product organization and restocking.
• Comply with safety policies and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, outside sales representatives, vendors, and contractors.
• Enter customer orders and assist customers in selecting products by asking targeted questions and actively listening to understand their needs.
• Recommend alternative or substitute products based on availability and customer requirements.
• Research and source products using multiple tools to meet customer specifications.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding product information, pricing, quotes, and pickup or delivery timelines.
• Proactively communicate with customers regarding order status, delays, or potential issues.
• Assume responsibility for processing billing, accounting, and shipping functions to maintain timely, accurate invoicing and to ensure accuracy.
• Formulate and maintain product folder and price sheets as required.
• Complete the full sales order process while identifying opportunities to upsell related or complementary items.
• Manage showroom merchandising, including product organization and restocking to ensure an appealing and well-maintained sales floor.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures related to job duties.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

In addition to the above responsibilities, this individual is held accountable for all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 1+ year experience in a Counter Sales role, preferably in the HVAC industry.
• Proven success in sales and providing excellent customer service.
• Strong interpersonal skills including sales, problem solving and customer service.
• Ability to work independently but meet assigned goals and objectives in designated time frames.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• A willingness to learn and grow with our Company.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Proven commitment to customer service and a safe work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of air conditioning, heating and ventilation equipment at a wholesale distribution level.
• Experience in a wholesale HVAC equipment supply house preferred.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday with an occasional Saturday. This position may require working extra hours on occasion.
