Job summary

Meskwaki Casino is seeking a qualified supervisor to oversee the Soft Count/Drop Team, ensuring asset protection and accurate reporting. You will implement controls, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with internal policies and gaming regulations.

You will monitor equipment, maintain security standards, and coordinate with management to safeguard assets while promoting teamwork and guest satisfaction in a high-standards environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant field; three years of progressive drop/count experience may substitute.
• One year of casino drop/count team experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• G&D certified training in the M3 and the C5 counting machines or ability to obtain certification within 1 month of starting.
• Mechanical inclination with experience in software/hardware maintenance.
• Knowledge of Title 31 and MICS related to casino drop/count and cash management.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.
• High School Diploma/GED.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Assists in Managing Soft Count/Drop Team activity and the maintenance of count & dispense equipment. Responsible for overseeing compliance with and implementation of established policies and procedures, and accuracy and accountability of Casino assets and reports.

Essential Job Duties

1. Safeguard and account for the assets of the owners.
2. Responsible for monitoring and assisting in suggesting when equipment needs to be replaced.
3. Maintains confidentiality on all internal departmental matters, correspondence, and proprietary data.
4. Develops, documents, and implements procedures and controls over the Soft Count/Drop Team's functions.
5. Ensures Department personnel comply with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
6. Ensures that staff is properly trained in existing and new procedures.
7. Monitor and address mutual respect and interaction between co-workers.
8. Communicates and networks effectively with management, staff, other departments, and outside representatives to maintain a productive and effective department operation.
9. Maintain and verify proper functioning of count and dispense equipment including those used in Soft Count, the Cage and kiosks and their related components and support systems.
10. Maintain and track inventory of replacement parts for equipment used.
11. Knowledge of schematic drawings and application of warranty provisions if applicable.
12. Knowledge of functionality and proper use of all diagnostic and test equipment.
13. Monitor the casino environment and follow established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.
14. Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.

Supplemental Job Duties

1. Familiarizes self with casino minimum internal control standards to obtain full knowledge and understanding of these procedures.
2. Attends all required meetings and training sessions.
3. This position has signatory authority for machine access keys, drop access keys, and short pay authorizations.
4. Report to work on time and as required in professional attire, display a high level of personal cleanliness, and follow personal appearance standards.
5. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

May be exposed to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke-filled environment. Some lifting up to 150 pounds may be required. Requires considerable standing and walking along with use of hands, wrists, arms, fingers, as well as bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching. Exposure to electric current and moving mechanical parts is present.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Knowledge/Education/Work Experiences (required unless stated otherwise):

• Associates degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant field of study required. (Three (3) years of demonstrated, progressive drop/count experience may be substituted for education requirement.)
• One (1) year of demonstrated casino drop/count team experience.
• Two (2) years of demonstrated supervisory experience.
• Current G&D certified training in the M3 and the C5 counting machines required or be able to attend training and obtain certification within 1 month of beginning employment.
• Mechanically inclined with experience in software/hardware maintenance with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Title 31 requirements and the Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) related to casino drop/count and cash management operations.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.
• High School Diploma/GED

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will have the authority to; make decisions necessary for carrying out the above listed job duties, hire, terminate, promote, demote, transfer, provide training opportunities, recommend merit increases, evaluate performance, create, and adjust performance standards, create and/or delegate staff scheduling and invoke disciplinary action. This position may have other supervisory authority assigned as necessary through management. This position has the authority, through proper channels, to procure supplies and or equipment needed for the operation of the department. This position directly supervises the Soft Count Supervisors and Finance Technicians.

Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to meet deadlines and work independently without supervision.
• Must be able to read, interpret and understand the Meskwaki Casino Internal Controls and standard operating procedures.
• Must be flexible with working hours and days off.
• Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written; effectively instruct and guide all subordinates.
• Must have the ability to evaluate and apply current operating procedures and policies openly and objectively. Must possess good computer skills.
• Must be able to meet all internal supervisory or higher, training and education requirements.

Gaming Restrictions:

This position is PROHIBITED from playing all casino games while on-duty, except as authorized for team member tournaments. Otherwise, this position may play any casino game while off-duty. Team Members may be Club Meskwaki members and remain eligible for the benefits based on accruals but are prohibited from entering casino contests unless otherwise noted on the drawing, tournament, or contest guidelines.
