Job summary

BayMark Health Services is seeking a Counselor Trainee to support patients in an outpatient treatment setting. The role involves guiding individuals through medically assisted programs, conducting group and individual sessions, and assisting with crisis management and coping strategies.

The trainee will evaluate patient progress, collaborate with doctors and therapists, and help develop aftercare and discharge plans to support long-term recovery.

Responsibilities

• Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment
• Involve families and significant others in patient’s recovery process whenever possible
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
• Ability to handle stressful situations and interact with others
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Position Overview

Counselor Traineewill be in chargewithassisting patients through medicallyassistingprograms and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions toassistwith crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally,counselorwill evaluate patients’ progress during therapy. Addiction counselors may also need to collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists for patients’ therapy and treatment for best overalloutcome.

Qualifications:

• Applicants must currently hold an ADT or ADT eligible status in the State ofMaryland.
• Previousexperience working with chemically dependent individualsa plus. Mustdemonstratea positive, non-judgmental, andacceptingattitude toward our patient population.
• Satisfactory criminal background and drug screen

Salary Range:

Salary ranges from $23.48 - $24.48. (This position is non-exempt, overtime eligible with prior approval)

The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, licensure, and training.
