Position Title: COUNSELOR STUDENT II (2) - ( T226057 )
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a COUNSELOR STUDENT II to work under minimal supervision. The counselor will provide guidance and advice to students on matters such as course selection, prerequisites, career planning, and continuing higher education. Additional counseling services related to student academics and other aspects of student life will be provided. The role includes making referrals to other agencies or offices as needed, collecting data for student assessment, and assisting with student recruitment and retention. The counselor may serve on special committees, maintain accurate student records adhering to confidentiality standards, and provide orientation and outreach services to prospective students from junior colleges. Responsibilities may also include coordinating support services, preparing reports, assisting with departmental publications, and acting in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, or a related field is required, along with four (4) years of related experience. Work experience cannot substitute for the educational requirement.
