Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a Counselor to join an interdisciplinary team. You will evaluate patients' psychosocial needs and deliver care to support their healthcare goals. Travel between two nearby hospitals is required to ensure continuity of services.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s degree in counseling and licensure in a relevant field; LMSW/LPC/LMFT/PhD or provisional license with time to obtain it is expected. Collaborative, patient-centered care is the focus of this role.

Will conduct a variety of psychosocial assessments and provides care for these patients through therapeutic use of self and/or the patient care/problem solving process to assist the patient and family to achieve basic healthcare goals. The counselor is a member of an interdisciplinary team that is responsible for working collaboratively with the medical director & clinic manager to ensure development and implementation of appropriate standards. Needs to have flexibility in traveling between two hospitals 30 minutes apart.Education Required: Masters Degree in a related field of counseling services Experience Preferred: 1-2 yrs. experience with wide variety of patient populations Skills Ability to work within scope of practice to help patient achieve highest level of quality possible for psychological well-being Knowledge of community resources to help meet patient needs Ability to work independently & collaboratively in teams Licensure/Certification/Registration Required: Current Licensure as a Social Worker [LCSW or LMSW], Licensed Professional Counselor [LPC], Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Psychologist [PhD or PsyD] or application for provisional license with completed degree requirements of the previous. Provisional license must be obtained within 120 days of employment.
