Job summary

Spero Health, Inc. is seeking a licensed Counselor/Social Worker to join an integrated care team in Altoona, PA. You will conduct assessments, provide evidence-based counseling, and support patients across counseling, case management, and MAT services.

The role emphasizes HIPAA/CFR42 Part 2 compliance, goal setting, and collaboration to improve outcomes and recovery for patients facing addiction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health from an accredited college or university.
• Master’s degree in behavioral science preferred for advancement.
• Licenses: LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LAPC, LSW, CAADC as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessment and ongoing patient care.
• Provide counseling to patients through evidence-based practice.
• Provide patient education and support.
• Ensure accountability of treatment program and patient compliance through collaboration.
• Assist patients in creating realistic goals toward recovery.
• Ensure HIPAA and CFR42 Part 2 compliance as a clinic resource.

This position is for a licensed counselor or social worker who supports the mission of “Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships” in an integrated team with patients receiving counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment. The Counselor's responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Conduct initial assessment and ongoing patient care.
• Provide counseling to patients through evidenced-based practice.
• Provide patient education.
• Ensure accountability of treatment program and patient compliance through collaboration.
• Assist patients in creating realistic goals toward achieving freedom from addiction.
• Act as a clinic resource and assure compliance with HIPPA and CFR42 Part 2 regulations.

Requirements

LICENSED COUNSELOR/SOCIAL WORKER EDUCATION:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral health field. Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of full-time employment/internship working in a human-services setting OR Master's Degree in behavioral science, as defined above.
• License: LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LAPC, LSW, CAADC

Spero Health will provide the following training required for HIOP programs, all of which must be completed within the first 90 days of employment:

CPR Certification, Basic First Aid, Narcan Administration and De-Escalation Training
