Job summary

Summit BHC in Lubbock, Texas is seeking a Counselor - LPC for a full-time onsite role at The Ranch at Dove Tree. You will provide treatment and support to help clients recover from addictions and mental health disorders, including family counseling as needed.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in social services or related fields and state licensure as a counselor. CPR and de-escalation training are required. Experience is preferred but not required; training is provided on hire.

• Licensure as social worker, professional counselor, therapist or addiction counselor per state; entry level allowed.
• CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Conduct client assessments identifying history, current presentation and treatment needs.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of chemical dependence services required by the program.
• Participate in and prepare treatment plans and progress reviews as assigned.
• Conduct group, individual, or family counseling sessions using evidenced-based modalities.
• Provide client and family education related to substance abuse and psychiatric issues.
• Ensure timely, clear documentation of client care, treatment and incidents.
• Provide crisis intervention to clients as needed and seek consultation as appropriate.
• Plan and document aftercare for assigned clients.
• Act as liaison with insurance carriers and perform case management duties.
• Educational workshops within the hospital and the community as required.

Counselor - LPC FT page is loaded## Counselor - LPC FTlocations: The Ranch at Dove Treetime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR127896Counselor - LPC FT | The Ranch at Dove Tree | Lubbock, Texas**About the Job:**PURPOSE STATEMENT:The Counselor One provides treatment and support to assist clients in their recovery from addictions, such as alcoholism, drug addiction, or mental health disorders, assists with modifying problem behaviors; may also provide counseling services to families of clients.**Roles and Responsibilities:****ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*** Conducts client assessments focused on identifying client history, current presentation, problem areas, ongoing clinical need for treatment and risk assessment.* Conducts ongoing assessments of chemical dependence services required by the treatment program.* Participates in and prepares client treatment planning and treatment plan progress reviews as assigned and documents as required.* Conducts assigned group counseling, individual or family sessions and implements evidence-supported treatment modalities as assigned and documents as required.* Provides client and family education relative to substance abuse/psychiatric problems.* Ensures all documentation regarding client care, treatment and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.* Provides crisis intervention to clients, as needed, and seeks consultation as appropriate.* Plans for and completes required documentation of aftercare for assigned clients.* Acts as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested.* Provides case management duties for clients, ensuring individualized quality care.* Conducts educational workshops both within the Hospital and in the community as required.* Serves as a liaison with self-help groups and EAP professionals.**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:*** Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in social services, addiction, mental health or closely related health services field.* Degree must be from an accredited college or university.* Professional experience is not required, but experience in counseling field instruction/internship or similar practicum training is preferred.**LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:*** Must have current and valid licensure or certification as a social worker, professional counselor, therapist or addiction counselor per state agency, including entry level licenses as issued by the state.* CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).* First aid may be required based on state or facility.**WORK LOCATION:**This position is onsite and is not a remote position.**SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:**This position is an Individual Contributor.Veterans and military spouses are highly encouraged to apply.
