Job summary

American Addiction Centers seeks a Counselor-intern to coordinate and provide individualized case management, group therapy, and bio-psychosocial assessments within our facility. The role emphasizes client care, resource development, discharge planning, and liaison with referral sources.

You will work toward CADC certification and participate in weekly supervision; AAC values education, work-life balance, and a collaborative, respectful culture.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and studying for Drug & Alcohol counseling, social work or related field.
• 2 years’ experience in substance abuse environment preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, family members, and other staff.
• Knowledge and experiences in running groups, meetings and/or activities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft and Google products.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide case management, group therapy, and bio-psychosocial assessments.
• Serve as liaison with referral sources and UR department.
• Work toward CADC certification and attend weekly supervision.
• Foster a compassionate, quality care environment for clients.
