Job summary

Garfield Re-2 School District is seeking a focused Counselor for Rifle Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports grades six to eight, working with a team of teachers, administrators, and district staff to provide equitable educational services and proactive supports.

The position is grant-funded for three years and will be reassessed for continued funding. The salary ranges vary by in-district experience ($46,087–$127,732.90) and non in-district experience

This is a 3-Year Grant Funded Position.The position will be reassessed at the end of the term and is contingent upon future funding

Every Rifle Middle School student will achieve and sustain a trajectory of positive academic growth and receive the support needed to contribute productively to the RMS community because we exist to nurture and effectively teach the whole adolescent child to be prepared to take their next steps.

Postion Summary: The middle school counselor supports students with their academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs as they progress through grades six to eight. The middle school counselor works as a leader and collaborator in the school with a team of teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, parents and district office staff with the purpose of providing equitable and quality educational services for each and every student. Where possible, the counselor works to provide services that are preventative and proactive in nature to meet the diverse needs of students. The counselor is also an active participant in handling crisis situations that will arise within the school and, at times, the community.
