Brigham Young University-Idaho’s Counseling Center seeks a Counselor to provide individual, group, and couples psychotherapy to students, aligned with gospel principles. The role maintains a clinical caseload and accurate records, while contributing to outreach and campus well-being.

Working in a short-term therapy model, you will collaborate with colleagues, participate in meetings, and support student care through professional counseling services and community partnerships on campus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a mental health field is required.
• Licensed or license-eligible in Idaho in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
• Ability to maintain clinical documentation and collaborate with team.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and couples psychotherapy to BYU-Idaho students.
• Maintain a clinical caseload of approximately 26 sessions per week.
• Document each session accurately, including diagnosis and attendance in the electronic scheduling system.
• Maintain clinical records for all sessions and participate in meetings and case consultations.
• Support outreach efforts and campus well-being in collaboration with Counseling Center staff.

# **Counselor**Provide individual, group, and couples psychotherapy to students in harmony with gospel principles.## Position SummaryThe Counselor provides psychotherapy services to BYU-Idaho students and supports the mission of the Counseling Center through clinical care, professional collaboration, and outreach. This position works with students in individual, group, and couples settings, maintains accurate clinical documentation, participates in center meetings and consultations, and contributes to outreach efforts that support student needs and campus well-being.The Counselor is expected to practice within a short-term therapy model, use sound clinical judgment, and follow the ethical standards of the profession, the licensing board, and the Counseling Center.## ## ## What You’ll Do* Provide individual, group, and couples psychotherapy to students* Maintain a clinical caseload of approximately 26 sessions per week* Document each session accurately, including diagnosis and attendance in the electronic scheduling system* Maintain clinical records for all sessions* Continue professional growth through training, continuing education, and current best practices* Share relevant training and learning with coworkers as needed* Participate actively in center meetings, in-services, and case consultations* Support the goals and mission of the Counseling Center through collaboration and contribution* Accept outreach assignments and present to student groups and campus partners as needed* Use the Learning by Faith model in outreach efforts and assess outreach outcomes## ## ## Invitation to ApplyIf you are a licensed or license-eligible mental health professional who values student care, collaboration, and mission-centered service, we invite you to apply.
