Job summary

Spero Health, INC. in Petersburg, VA is seeking a licensed Counselor or Social Worker to join our integrated care team delivering counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment. We treat the whole person and collaborate across disciplines to support recovery and healthier lives.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, evidence-based counseling, HIPAA compliance, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to help patients set realistic goals toward recovery.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling and/or Substance Abuse Treatment required.
• License: LPC, LCSW or CSAC.
• Minimum of 1 year full-time employment/internship in a human-services setting or Master's in behavioral science.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessment and ongoing patient care.

• Ensure accountability of treatment program and patient compliance through collaboration.

This position is for a licensed counselor or social worker who supports the mission of “Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships” in an integrated team with patients receiving counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment. The Counselor's responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Conduct initial assessment and ongoing patient care.
• Provide counseling to patients through evidenced-based practice.
• Provide patient education.

• Assist patients in creating realistic goals toward achieving freedom from addiction.
• Act as a clinic resource and assure compliance with HIPPA and CFR42 Part 2 regulations.

Requirements

LICENSED COUNSELOR/SOCIAL WORKER EDUCATION:

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling and/or Substance Abuse Treatment

LICENSED COUNSELOR/SOCIAL WORKER EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 1 year of full-time employment/internship working in a human-services setting OR Master's Degree in behavioral science, as defined above.
• License: LPC, LCSW or CSAC
