Job summary

Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, Inc. in Newark, DE is seeking a Co-Occurring / Substance Abuse Counselor to manage a client caseload and perform evaluations, assessments, and progress documentation within the electronic record.

You will coordinate care with outside providers and adjust treatment plans under supervision. The role requires CADC certification within 2 years or a CADC-equivalent, plus a Bachelor's or Associate degree in a behavioral field.

Qualifications

• Minimum associate degree with CADC or bachelor's degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field.
• 1 year experience in the Substance Abuse Field and/or Mental Health.
• Within 2 years, must have obtained certification as CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor).

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for a caseload of clients, as identified by program requirements and in accordance with state regulations.
• Completes required evaluations and assessments.
• Documents all clinical services and interventions performed within the clients ‘electronic record.
• Monitors client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Maintains contact with outside providers to coordinate care.
• Confer with the Clinical Supervisor on a daily basis for casing.
• Participates in weekly treatment team meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor.

What You'll Do At BCCS

• Be responsible for a caseload of clients, as identified by program requirements and in accordance with state regulations.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Knowledge of assessment and counseling/therapy principles
• Considerable knowledge of population being served and available resources
• Ability to evaluate and screen clients for appropriate treatment and document progress of clients
• May require crisis intervention to emergency situations
• Skill in establishing rapport with clients
• Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

• Commensurate with experience, education, and certification

• Monday - Friday
• 5:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
