BCCS is Seeking a Full-time Counselor for our First Stop DUI Program!
Are you eager to assist a client through their Mental Health and Substance Use recovery process in an outpatient therapeutic setting? We are seeking a Counselor to provide supportive, person-centered counseling services to individuals in a compassionate way.
What You’ll Do At BCCS
- Deliver quality and competent care to all BCCS clients, including but not limited to individual, family and group counseling.
- Complete all scheduled intakes & assessments and make appropriate recommendations for either education or outpatient treatment.
- Create a treatment plan based on the client’s assessment.
- Document all clinical services and interventions performed within the client’s electronic record.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Facilitate groups using identified curriculum.
- Confer with the Clinical Supervisor on a daily basis for casing.
- Ensure that the DUI tracking system is updated within the identified timeline with client status.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment clinical practices.
- Knowledge of the population being served and available resources.
- Ability to evaluate and screen clients for appropriate treatment and document progress of clients.
- May require crisis intervention for emergency situations.
- Skill in establishing rapport with clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Requirements
Qualifications for the position are:
- Minimum of an associate degree with CADC, or bachelor's degree.
- REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field.
- REQUIRED: 1 year experience in the Substance Abuse Field and/or Mental Health.
- Within 2 years, must have obtained certification as CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor).
Schedule
- Monday - Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- One late shift during the week of 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Salary
- Starting at $21/hour
- Commensurate with experience, education, and certification!
