Join Anchor House as a Full-Time Counselor in the vibrant heart of Brooklyn, NY. This onsite role focuses on empathy, problem-solving and customer-centric care, working with clients in substance use disorder treatment.

Responsibilities

• Develop person-centered treatment plans addressing functional impairments related to substance use disorder.
• Deliver engaging individual and group counseling sessions using the Twelve Core Functions.
• Maintain meticulous records required by OASAS and other relevant agencies.
• Use cognitive behavioral and motivational interviewing techniques in a trauma-informed environment.
• Establish strong rapport with clients and their families, providing holistic recovery support.
• Conduct scheduled counseling sessions and document progress accurately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in the drug treatment field.
• CASAC credential or active pursuit of the CASAC-T credential.
• Proficiency in The Twelve Core Functions.
• 2-3 years of experience working with clients who have substance abuse disorders and co-occurring mental health issues.
• Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule including weekends.
• Computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Excel, AWARDS, and Outlook.
