Job summary

Outreach Development Corp. is seeking a Counselor in New York. The role delivers clinical services to individuals with substance use issues and mental health symptoms as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will conduct individual sessions, facilitate diverse group topics, and document promptly in the EHR. A CASAC-T or CASAC certification and 2–3 years of related experience are preferred. This is an on-site position supporting community clients.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience with substance use disorders.
• One to two years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with co-occurring disorders.
• One to two years of experience working in an OASAS-licensed facility a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual sessions consistent with client need, person-centered care, and best practices.
• Facilitate group sessions related to substance use, relapse prevention, trauma, life skills, stages of change, etc.
• Document all service delivery in the EHR promptly and consistent with insurance and stakeholder standards.
• Ensure that 70% of work hours are spent providing services.
• Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, as well as individual and group supervision.
• Deescalate client crises when appropriate and report all incidents to site managers.
• Complete toxicology testing consistent with OASAS and Outreach policies.
• Attend speaking engagements or tabling events.
• Maintain training appropriate to role and credential/licensure.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $21.00 To $30.00 Hourly

Position: Counselor

The Counselor is responsible for the delivery and implementation of clinical series to a population of individuals who experience substance misuse and symptoms of mental health disorders. The Counselor serves as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and reports to the Program Coordinator, Assistant Director, or Director.
