Salary Range: $21.00 To $25.00 Hourly
The Counselor is responsible for the delivery and implementation of long term supervision, support, and clinical services to a population of chemically dependent adolescents with co-occurring ad mental health problems.
- Initial and ongoing screening of resident and resident property in accordance with unit procedure.
- Supervise clients in self-medication (under supervision).
- Complete assessments, intakes, and participates in level of care determined by gathering appropriate data, orienting client to his/her rights and responsibilities and program expectations.
- Facilitate admission/referral to other programs or agencies for clients in need of services not offered at unit.
- Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling services in a professional, ethical, and competent manner.
- Manages all aspects of assigned caseload during treatment, with special attention to appropriate levels of care and appropriate clinical interventions.
- Complete all needed documentation and reports in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with referents and other collateral contacts (i.e. Probation, Parole, CPS, managed care, E.A.P.’s, courts. Etc.) through timely written, phone, computerized, or other responses.
- Maintain communication and teamwork with clinical staff to integrate and enhance clinical services.
- Communicate all pertinent information, incidents, and emergencies using the appropriate system including the SAC communication long, incident reports, and/or elopement reports.
- Provide overall supervision and management of client population in the facilitation of the daily house schedule.
- Facilitate service groups.
- Conduct toxicology testing, as needed.
- Exercise due diligence in the delivery of quality care in line with the agency Medicaid Compliance Plan and systems of accountability.
- Insure communication through the compliance officer and/or the supervisory structure of any violation of non-compliance with the agency’s Medicaid compliance plan and personnel policy and procedure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- CASAC-T, CASAC, or higher preferred.
- 1 year of experience working with clients with substance abuse disorders.
- 1 year of experience working with adolescents with co-occurring and mental health problems.
- 1 year of experience working in an OASAS funded facility a plus.
