Job summary

Mvprecovery seeks a compassionate Counselor to join the clinical team for in-person services at our Chester County location. The role involves delivering high-quality individual and group counseling, maintaining timely documentation, and supporting clients through their treatment journey.

The Counselor will conduct ASAM assessments, develop SMART-based treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure compliant, recovery-focused care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field.
  • Licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure as required by state regulations.
  • Experience with substance use and co-occurring disorders preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASAM Criteria, treatment planning, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented practices.
  • Strong clinical documentation, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions for clients on their caseload.
  • Meet productivity standards in line with organizational policies and performance expectations.
  • Conduct ASAM assessments for continued stays and admissions to levels of care.
  • Develop, implement, and update client-centered treatment plans using SMART framework.
  • Complete all clinical and billing documentation within 24 hours of services.
  • Maintain client records in compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Conduct outreach and referral follow-up to support engagement in care.
  • Administer urine drug screenings as required by program guidelines.
  • Complete client discharge documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Connect clients with community resources to address treatment needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in licensing/regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and organizational activities.

The Counselor is responsible for providing high-quality individual and group counseling services, maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation, and supporting clients throughout their treatment journey. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering evidence-based care while ensuring compliance with organizational, federal, state, and county regulations.

Position Details
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday
    • 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or
    • 12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Work Location: On-site only. This position requires in-person services and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions for clients assigned to their caseload.
  • Meet productivity standards in accordance with organizational policies and performance expectations.
  • Conduct ASAM assessments for continued stays and admissions to appropriate levels of care.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update client-centered treatment plans using the SMART framework for goal setting.
  • Complete all required clinical documentation and billing documentation within 24 hours of providing clinical services.
  • Maintain client records in compliance with federal, state, county, and organizational documentation standards.
  • Conduct client outreach and referral follow-up as appropriate to support engagement and continuity of care.
  • Complete urine drug screenings (UDS) as required by program guidelines.
  • Complete client discharge documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Connect clients with community resources and supportive services to address identified treatment and recovery needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care and promote positive client outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in accordance with applicable licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and other organizational activities as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field (Master's degree preferred, depending on program requirements).
  • Relevant counseling certification and/or licensure, or eligibility to obtain licensure, as required by state regulations.
  • Experience working with individuals with substance use and/or co-occurring mental health disorders preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASAM Criteria, treatment planning, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented practices.
  • Strong clinical documentation, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
