Job summary

Operation PAR, Inc. is a long-standing non-profit provider delivering behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970. The role involves counseling individuals and groups, documenting progress, and coordinating services to support recovery.

The candidate will conduct psychosocial assessments, develop treatment plans, and participate in telehealth screenings and counseling as required. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred, with strong communication and crisis intervention

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation or related human services field required.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited program in a related field required or preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual counseling to patients and participate in group counseling sessions.
  • Develop and document treatment plans, progress notes, and psychosocial assessments.
  • Coordinate services and referrals to support recovery and community resources.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and short-term counseling as needed.
  • Assist in education of patients and families about treatment goals and recovery options.

Job description

Operation PAR, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of services for individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders. PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical services, and research.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Performs substance abuse and mental health counseling work on an individual patient basis and in a group setting. Duties primarily consist of conducting and documenting services such as counseling, psycho-educational groups, psychosocial assessment, case management, and treatment planning. Counseling includes discussion of issues associated with MAPS patient's substance use and other co-occurring conditions to work toward a constructive resolution of those problems and ultimately toward recovery. May be required to use telehealth services to provide clinical screenings, assessments, and counseling.

WORK SCHEDULE: FULL TIME M-F 5:30AM-1:30PM

SCOPE OF PRACTICE: Clinical services are limited to the following:

  • Screening and psychosocial assessment
  • Treatment planning and referral
  • Service coordination and consultation
  • Continuing assessment and treatment plan reviews
  • Recovery support services
  • Crisis intervention
  • Individual, family, and community education
  • Documentation of progress
  • Counseling, including:
  • Individual counseling
  • Group counseling
  • Counseling with families, couples, and significant others

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have at least Bachelor's of Arts or Bachelor's of Science in counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services field.
  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college with a major in counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services field.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to write accurately and legibly
  • Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend, stoop and reach
  • Ability to sit in meetings for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move throughout program facilities both indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds
  • Good hearing and vision

  • Valid driver's license
