Job summary

The Sonoma County Office of Education in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking a credentialed school counselor to join our team. A valid California PPS Credential with School Counseling specialization is required, along with at least one year of experience in a school district.

Preference is given to candidates with experience in restorative practices, YouthTruth surveys, or transformational coaching. Applicants must be fingerprinted and meet DOJ/FBI checks; TB testing and AB2534 disclosure are required

Qualifications

• Masters degree in education or related field is desirable but not required.
• Valid California PPS Credential with School Counseling specialization is required.
• At least 1 year experience as a credentialed professional in a school district.
• Experience with restorative practices, YouthTruth surveys, or transformational coaching preferred.

Job description

Education and Experience

• Education:
  • Masters Degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in education or closely related field is desirable but not required.
• Experience:
  • At least (1) year experience as a credentialed professional in a school district is required.
  • A background or experience in the use of restorative practices in educational settings is preferred.
  • A background or experience in implementing the YouthTruth survey in an educational setting is preferred.
  • A background or experience in delivering and/or receiving transformational coaching is preferred.
• Credentials:
  • A valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential with the School Counseling specialization is required.

Other Requirements

• Must be fingerprinted and a satisfactory Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation records checks must be received by the Sonoma County Office of Education, prior to employment.
• Proof of TB test will be required upon employment.
• A mandatory employment disclose by all former employers for the AB2534 must be completed prior to employment.
