Qualifications

• Doctorate in counselor education, counseling psychology, or related field by the appointment date.
• Licensed or license-eligible as a professional counselor in California.
• Broad knowledge of the clinical mental health counseling curriculum.
• Evidence of the ability to conduct research (e.g., dissertation research).
• University-level teaching experience (including co-teaching/guest lecturing).
• Demonstrated potential for integrating technology into instruction.
• Demonstrated awareness of racial inequities affecting underrepresented groups.
• Commitment to social justice advocacy through teaching, research, or service.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, and diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses that are part of the CACREP core curriculum, with Clinical Mental Health Counseling focus.
• Potential to teach in the Ánimo Latinx Health Counseling Concentration.
• Conduct research leading to peer‑reviewed publications and contribute to department life.
• Advise students, serve on committees, and participate in university and disciplinary activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support a student-centered, inclusive learning environment.
