Job summary

Ellucian seeks a strategic Assistant General Counsel, Product and AI Innovation to join our growing Legal team. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Information Security, and Strategy to drive innovation while managing legal, regulatory, IP, privacy, and operational risk across the product lifecycle.

You will guide AI-enabled initiatives, data governance, and technology commercialization, ensuring responsible deployment of next‑gen solutions.

Qualifications

10–12+ years of legal experience supporting technology, SaaS, cloud, data and software businesses.
Experience counseling product, engineering and technology teams on development and commercialization.
Strong knowledge of privacy, AI governance, and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent negotiation, drafting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as legal advisor to Product, Engineering, Data, Security, and Innovation teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Provide proactive legal guidance on SaaS, cloud, data, AI-enabled products and services.
Advise on product design decisions, IP considerations, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor evolving legal and regulatory developments related to AI, data protection, and technology innovation.
Support enterprise AI governance and scalable legal review processes.
