Walmart is seeking a Counsel – Marketplace Payments to help build the next generation of payments and financial services for its Marketplace. You will work with Product, Engineering and business teams on merchant cash advances, cross-border payments, and settlement, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance at scale.

The role emphasizes hands-on product counseling, drafting complex agreements, and advising on AI-enabled commerce, money transmission and cross-border issues.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 4+ years of legal experience involving payments, fintech, banking, commercial finance or financial-services products.
• Experience advising on complex legal or regulatory issues and translating requirements into practical business solutions.
• Experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements.

Responsabilités

• Serve as trusted legal advisor to Walmart Marketplace teams developing payments products.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to design scalable products and practical solutions.
• Advise on AI-enabled and agent-led commerce, including payment credentials, tokenization and data sharing.
• Draft and negotiate sponsor bank, capital provider and payment-processor agreements.
• Identify regulatory issues early in product development and craft risk-based launch paths.
