THE POSITION

FanDuel Group is looking for a Counsel Manager for the Litigation group with 5+ years of legal experience to focus on leading internal investigations. This role will also heavily involve counseling clients on variety of potential legal risks including antitrust and competition. The person in this role will be expected to assist in managing all aspects of litigation on a wide variety of matters in this exciting and expanding field. This role follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

THE GAME PLAN

This position will work with a fantastic team of legal professionals working to defend FanDuel’s interests and provide reliable legal advice concerning all products across the United States and Canada to assist with FanDuel’s continued innovation of those products. Reporting to the Senior Director of Litigation, this role will join a sophisticated team of legal experts and:

  • Manage sensitive internal investigations regarding areas of internal, regulatory and other governmental interest
  • Engage in close partnership with stakeholders across the business and within the legal team to help manage a variety of pre-litigation and active litigation matters, including managing outside counsel where necessary
  • Work with colleagues across the legal and regulatory group to formulate and implement advice arising out of the investigations’ findings
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders across FanDuel’s business lines to address potential issues, particularly related to antitrust and competition, proactively

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • J.D. from a top law school and member in good standing of at least one state bar;
  • 5+ years of total legal experience, preferably including in-house experience in a highly regulated industry or at high-growth technology company and/or at a top-tier law firm advising such companies;
  • Experience with conducting internal investigations;
  • Experience with antitrust and competition issues;
  • Strong aptitude for legal research, problem-solving, policy analysis, and advocacy, preferably in an evolving or new area of the law; and
  • Excellent verbal, written, and strategic communication skills and an ability to collaborate effectively across external and internal stakeholders.

The applicable salary range for this position is $126,000 - $158,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
