Walmart seeks a Counsel for the Global Marketplace legal team to support a high-growth cross-border seller program. The role provides practical legal advice on contracts, country expansion, and third-party seller relationships across regions, coordinating with in-house and external firms as needed.

You will work across Asia, Europe, the Americas and beyond, lead or contribute to multi-jurisdictional projects, and collaborate with IP, tax, antitrust, and privacy teams to manage legal risk.

Formación

• 5+ years of legal practice experience, including at least 4 years at a major US or European law firm or within an in-house legal department of a multinational corporation.
• Strong background in international transactional/corporate law or product and trade compliance.
• Experience managing complex legal matters across multiple jurisdictions (Latin America preferred) coordinating with multiple contributors.
• Excellent judgment, drafting skills, and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment without a predefined playbook.
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.

Position Summary…

Join the Walmart Global Marketplace legal team as a Counsel! Walmart Marketplace is a high-growth, strategic eCommerce business that enables third-party sellers to seamlessly reach Walmart’s massive global customer base, dramatically expanding assortment while delivering a best-in-class shopping experience. The person in this role reports to a senior attorney in the Global Marketplace legal team and supports business teams across multiple regions. This person will serve as a dynamic and business-oriented attorney with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The right person will provide practical legal advice on a wide range of matters including contracts, country expansion, strategic initiatives, and third-party seller relationships across jurisdictions.

What you’ll do…

• Provide frontline legal support and strategic counsel on strategic initiatives, online and offline contract structures, and other complex and novel legal issues arising from the third-party seller business.
• Support business teams across Asia, Europe, the Americas and more, by partnering with internal in-country teams and with external firms where we don’t have local legal teams.
• Lead or support multi-jurisdictional projects, including cross-border data transfers, technology initiatives, and compliance efforts.
• Partner with internal stakeholders (IP, tax, antitrust, privacy) to assess and manage legal risk.

What you’ll bring…

• 5+ years of legal practice experience, including at least 4 years practicing at a major US or European law firm or within the in-house legal department of a multinational corporation.

Preferred qualifications…

• Experience supporting international entities or expansions.
• Experience in eCommerce, retail, or marketplace businesses.
• Familiarity with IP, privacy, or consumer protection laws.
• Proficiency in Spanish.

  The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications…

Law degree from an accredited law school and 4 years’ experience in law.
License to practice law in at least one state.
