Arch Insurance is seeking a regulatory and compliance attorney to guide the business through state and federal insurance, privacy, and claims-handling requirements. The role partners with underwriting on policy form compliance, manages regulatory filings, and drafts key commercial agreements, including TPA, MSA, and vendor contracts.

The position requires a JD and 1–3 years of legal experience, with in-house experience preferred and a focus on regulatory, privacy, and contract work.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of legal experience; in-house experience preferred.
• Experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.
• Experience with regulatory and privacy matters is a plus.

Position Summary

Arch Insurance is seeking a regulatory and compliance attorney to guide the business through state and federal insurance, privacy, and claims-handling requirements. The role partners with underwriting on policy form compliance, manages regulatory filings, supports responses to consumer complaints, and drafts key commercial agreements, including TPA, MSA, and vendor contracts.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, research, and interpret state and federal statutes, bulletins, and market-conduct requirements governing admitted and non-admitted business.
• Partner with underwriting teams to ensure policy forms comply with applicable requirements.
• Monitor, research, and interpret state and federal privacy and data security laws and regulations.
• Prepare and manage regulatory filings, including holding company filings.
• Provide strategic legal guidance on regulatory matters and laws governing claims handling.
• Assist Arch business units in responding to consumer complaints.
• Draft and revise commercial contracts, including TPA agreements, MSAs, program administration agreements, and vendor agreements.
• Conduct legal research, including 50-state surveys.

Required Skills & Experience

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• One to three years of legal experience; in-house experience preferred.
• Claims experience a plus.
• Experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.
• Strong analytical and legal research skills, including proficiency with tools such as WestlawTM and Oden.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver consistently strong results.
• Demonstrated ability to succeed both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Professional and positive demeanor.
• Proactive, resourceful, and creative thinker.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$95,900 - $148,902/year

Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
