Competenze

• Active licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a COTA in skilled nursing.
• Must have reliable transportation to assigned facilities.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality required.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift at least 50 pounds.

Mansioni

• Record patients’ medical information and vital signs in EMR.
• Provide occupational therapy services under supervision of a licensed OT.
• Implement treatment plans to support resident goals.
• Assist residents with ADLs and functional tasks.
• Monitor progress and communicate changes to the supervising therapist.
• Educate residents and caregivers on therapy activities and strategies.
• Document sessions and outcomes per facility requirements.
• Maintain compliance with policy and regulatory standards.

• Pay Rate: $48/hour

• Shift Availability:M-F, 8am to 5pm

Responsibilities

A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) picking up contract assignments in a skilled nursing facility may be expected to:A

• Utilize EMRto record patients’ medical information and vital signs
• Provide occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Implement treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist to support resident goals and functional outcomes
• Assist residents with therapeutic activities designed to improve performance of activities of daily living (ADLs) and functional tasks
• Monitor resident responses to treatment and communicate progress, concerns, or changes in status to the supervising therapist
• Reinforce therapeutic techniques, adaptive strategies, and use of assistive equipment as directed
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic activities and functional support techniques as appropriate
• Accurately document treatment sessions, resident participation, and treatment outcomes in accordance with facility requirements
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and professional practice standards
• Communicate concerns or issues to onsite supervisor and agency
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working under an active COTA license
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in skilled nursing
• Must have reliable transportation to assigned facilities
• Must maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
• Able to push, pull, and lift at least 50 pounds
• Able to be standing and walking with frequent bending, reaching, and lifting with proper body mechanics
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Willing to complete background and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws and regulations

Credentials Required

• Active and unencumbered COCOTA License or Compact COTA License
• Government-Issued Photo ID or Passport
• CPR/BLS
• Resume
• Additional credentials may be required based on facility placement
