Sigma Health Rehab in Buffalo, NY is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a full-time position in a skilled nursing facility. You will implement the plan of care under supervision, assist residents with daily activities, and support rehabilitation goals through evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current New York State OTA License.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant experience are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising OT.
• Assist residents with daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document progress.
• Teach residents how to use equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members.
• Apply evidence-based practices aligned with the American Occupational Therapy Association.
