Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a Full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility in Buffalo, NY. A NY OTA license is required or eligibility in pursuit of licensure.

New graduates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply. The role focuses on carrying out OT-directed plans, assisting residents with daily activities, and collaborating with the OT team to optimize rehabilitation outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current New York State OTA license.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting preferred; new grads with relevant experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities per the plan of care set by the supervising OT.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy, document progress, and provide encouragement.
• Teach residents how to use equipment to aid daily function.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members.
• Apply evidence-based practices aligned with the American Occupational Therapy Association.
