Job summary

Shelby Oaks Post Acute in Memphis, TN seeks a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for PRN coverage. The COTA supports therapists by implementing treatment plans, documenting progress, and guiding patients through daily living activities in a skilled nursing setting.

The ideal candidate has a Tennessee OT license, current BLS/CPR, and an associate degree or vocational training. Six months SNF experience preferred; experience in long-term care is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or vocational training in occupational therapy.
• Current Tennessee license to practice occupational therapy.
• Active BLS/CPR certification.
• Six months of SNF experience preferred; new grads are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supports occupational therapists by implementing treatments and procedures.
• Develops and documents patient progress in care records.
• Instructs patients and families in home programs and adaptive equipment.
• Observes, records, and reports patients’ progress and responses to treatment.
• Plans and administers activity programs to restore function.
• Transports patients to and from the OT work area and attends care plan meetings.
