Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to implement occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OTR at Wesley Rehabilitation Center. This includes structured assessments, treatments, and documentation tailored to age-appropriate needs.

The role involves educating patients, families, and staff about functional levels and may include student education or other duties as assigned. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Active BLS certification is required.
• NBCOT certification is required.
• Colorado licensure is required per the job posting.
• Associates degree in occupational therapy from an accredited COTA program is required.
• New graduates accepted.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is responsible for implementing occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OTR. These services include structured assessments, treatment, and documentation according to age appropriate needs. In addition to direct patient intervention, the COTA is involved in the education of patient, family, caregivers, and staff regarding the patient’s functional level. The COTA may participate in student education and other related duties as required or assigned by supervisor. Equipment used may include, but is not limited to: computer, parafin bath, fluidotherapy, ultrasound, e-stim, splinting pan, heat gun, whirlpool, treatment tasks, pulleys.

Position Requirements:

• Active BLS Certification
• National Certification by the NBCOT. As of June 1, 2014: Colorado Licensure is required.
• Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited COTA program.
• New graduates accepted.
• Able to perform all structured treatments and documentation required in this position. Effective verbal and written communication.
