Job summary

The Beach Post-Acute in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our 24-hour skilled nursing team on a per-diem basis with full-time opening.

In this role you will support occupational therapists, assist in treatment plans, document progress, and help patients regain daily living skills.

Candidates must be licensed COTA with an associate degree and strong teamwork, communication, and compassion.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with current licensure.
• Associate's degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Compassionate attitude toward patients and their families.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and occupational therapy practices.
• Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support OTs by providing occupational therapy treatments and procedures.
• Assist in development of treatment plans in accordance with state laws.
• Carry out routine functions, direct activity programs, and document progress.
• Plan and implement educational, vocational, and recreational programs.
• Observe and record patients’ progress and maintain records.
• Communicate and collaborate with other health care professionals involved with the care of a patient.
• Instruct patients and families in home programs and use of adaptive equipment.
• Implement or assist in implementing treatment plans to help clients function independently.
