As an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) contractor, you will deliver in-home occupational therapy services to children and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) under the supervision of a licensed OTR/L. This role exists to help clients build functional skills and greater independence through consistent, evidence-based support.
Key responsibilities include implementing OTR-directed treatment plans, documenting session notes clearly and on time, communicating progress and concerns with the supervising OTR/L and caregivers, and maintaining a safe, respectful home-based care approach.
Required qualifications/skills:
Your day is built around a flexible part-time contractor schedule, most often on weekdays after school (approximately 2 PM–6 PM). You confirm your session locations, travel to clients' homes, and keep your time organized to meet a minimum of 10 sessions per week. Between visits, you stay responsive to messages, finalize documentation, and coordinate with your supervising OTR/L so plans remain aligned. The pace is steady but manageable, with time reserved for transitions, caregiver check-ins, and ensuring each session runs smoothly from arrival to wrap-up. You choose the hours and locations that fit best, while maintaining consistent, reliable follow-through for the families you serve.
