Job summary

Personal Touch Home Care is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide compassionate home-visit therapy in Staten Island, NY. This full-time role requires a valid NY COTA license and offers a competitive hourly wage with comprehensive benefits.

You will assess patients, implement treatment plans, educate families, and collaborate with a care team to improve independence and quality of life across pediatric and adult populations.

Qualifications

• Licensed/regulated as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the practicing state, if required.
• Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
• Pediatric experience or willingness to work with pediatric patients required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s functional status and home safety hazards.
• Execute treatment program and goals; communicate plan of care.
• Teach new skills or retrain daily activities impacted by illness.
• Fabricate splints and instruct use of adaptive equipment.
• Train patient in prosthetic/orthotic device use.
• Maintain clinical records and reports as required.
• Coordinate with other care personnel for integrated plans.
• Participate in in-services and case conferences.
• Identify needs for additional home health services.
• Educate family/caregivers on treatment regimes.
• Support discharge planning for patients.
