Job summary

Amedisys Home Health is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant for PRN home-based care. You will provide skilled interventions under an OT plan of care, document visits, and monitor patient progress in their home environment.

The role requires ACOTE-accredited OTA education, NBCOT eligibility or certification, and CPR certification. Experience and mentoring considerations may apply for shorter-tenure applicants.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the assigned state.
• Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant program accredited by ACOTE (AOTA).
• Eligible to take or have completed the NBCOT entry-level exam.
• One year related OTA experience preferred; approval/mentoring if less.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled OTA interventions per the physician plan of care under supervisional guidance.
• Document each visit following AOTA/ regulatory standards.
• Observe and report patient response and changes to supervising staff.
• Provide patient/caregiver resources for future ADL/IADL.
• Promote wellness and engagement in daily activities.
• Identify community resources/services for patients.
• Coordinate follow-up care with admitting care center.
• Stay current with occupational therapy trends and documentation skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
