Job summary

Accela Healthcare is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our family of skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers. You will support an Occupational Therapist, deliver treatment plans, and help residents regain independence in activities of daily living.

Ideal candidates have graduated from an accredited OTA program, hold COTA licensure, and possess strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current COTA certification and state license in good standing.
• Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, reliable, and committed to quality care and teamwork.
• Experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in delivering treatment plans to help residents regain independence in activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Carry out therapeutic activities to improve residents’ strength, coordination, mobility, cognition, and self-care abilities.
• Monitor and document resident progress through accurate and timely notes and reports.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and care team members.
• Support in training residents and families on techniques and use of adaptive equipment.
• Follow established treatment protocols and safety guidelines under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
• Participate in care team meetings and collaborate to ensure a holistic, resident-centered care approach.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and Residents' Rights; perform other duties as directed.
