Job summary

St. James Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in New York is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support our rehabilitation program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.

You will deliver treatment aligned with established goals and contribute to high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate has a valid NY license, experience in long-term or geriatric care, strong documentation skills, and a commitment to punctuality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid professional license and registration for state of practice
• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of OT
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred
• Well versed with documentation writing
• Document patient’s progress on weekly progress notes in a timely fashion
• Collaborates with all disciplines for patient-centered treatment and care
• Exceptional patient service skills and clinical excellence
• Report to work on time and maintain professionalism
• Perform duties as assigned by Director of Rehabilitation

Responsibilities

• Carry out treatments under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist
• Adhere to goals developed by the OT
• Provide feedback via documentation or required methods
• Maintain timely documentation of patient progress
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure best patient-centered care
• Demonstrate exceptional patient service and clinical excellence
• Arrive punctually and uphold professional conduct
• Perform other duties assigned by Rehabilitation Director
