Job summary

Brighton Healthcare in Asheville, NC is seeking a Full-Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our therapy team. You will work under the supervision of a licensed OT to provide skilled occupational therapy services to our residents.

The role emphasizes implementing treatment plans, documenting progress, communicating with the supervising OT, and educating residents and families on exercises and safety. SNF/long-term care experience preferred; CPR and COTA licensure required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current and valid COTA certification/licensure
• CPR certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
• Previous SNF or long-term care experience preferred
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Compassionate and dependable approach to resident care

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising OT
• Provide skilled interventions including ADL training and functional mobility
• Document treatments, resident progress, and response to interventions
• Communicate with the supervising OT regarding progress and changes in condition
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercises and safety techniques
• Work closely with the therapy team and facility staff to support quality resident care
• Follow Brighton Healthcare policies, professional standards, and regulations
