Job summary

Brookhaven Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to implement and contribute to occupational therapy plans for residents under supervision. The role supports independence and daily functioning with engaging therapies in a team-oriented setting.

The position offers full time, part time, and per diem options with medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k), paid time off, and incentives to recognize performance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist.
• Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises.
• Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist.
• Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
• Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident.
• Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated.
