Job summary

Adept Nursing & Rehab of North Platte is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support occupational therapists in delivering therapies to residents of our skilled nursing facility. You will help develop treatment plans, implement activities, monitor progress, and document outcomes to promote independence for our clients.

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists, instruct patients and families in home programs and the use of adaptive equipment, and

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics enabling these senses to function adequately to meet job requirements.
• Must function independently and work effectively with residents and care teams.
• Knowledge to care for SNF residents.
• Must possess problem-solving skills to perform the job.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities to fit patients’ needs and capabilities.
• Observe and record patients’ progress, attitudes, and behavior in client records.
• Collaborate with other health care professionals involved with patient care.
• Instruct patients and families in home programs and adaptive equipment use.
• Assist with implementing treatment plans to help clients function independently.
• Assess daily living skills and aid patients in dressing and grooming.
• Maintain equipment and materials for patient use.
• Demonstrate therapy techniques and activities.
• Attend care plan meetings to review progress and update plans.
