Job summary

Grand River Health Care Center in Rifle, Colorado invites a qualified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Rehabilitation Services team. You will support treatment plans in a long-term care environment, helping residents develop, regain or maintain daily living skills under supervision.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited program, OTA certification with Colorado licensure, and BLS. A minimum of 1 year in rehab is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program and must have passed or be scheduled for board examination.
• Requires Occupational Therapy Assistant certification and licensure through the State of Colorado.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required upon initial employment and maintained throughout GRHD employment.
• Minimum of 1 year of practical experience in a Rehabilitation Services setting preferred.
• Long term care experience in a similar role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaches residents skills for using adaptive equipment to participate in activities.
• Demonstrates current treatment techniques including manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and electrotherapeutic modalities as appropriate.
• Observes, records and reports to therapist patient responses and progress toward goals.
• Reviews each patient chart prior to scheduled services.
• Works under supervision of Occupational Therapists and coordinates with Rehabilitative Services team.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
• Documents resident notes and charges in the system per department practices.
• Delivers patient-centered care with a strong customer service approach.
