Job summary

Grand River Health in Rifle, Colorado is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support the Rehabilitation Services team in a long-term care setting. You will implement treatment plans under supervision to help residents develop, regain, or maintain daily living activities.

The role requires Colorado OTA licensure, board exam eligibility, and BLS certification. You will document progress, maintain charts, and work with therapists, residents, and families in a patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program and board examination scheduled/passed.
• Colorado OTA licensure is required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required on/official start and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Teaches residents to use adaptive equipment for daily activities.
• Implements treatment techniques including manual therapy and neuromuscular re-education.
• Observes and reports patient progress to the supervising therapist.
• Reviews patient charts prior to scheduled services.
• Works under supervision with Rehabilitation Services and Care Center teams.
• Maintains a clean, organized work environment and accurate documentation of notes and charges.
• Demonstrates patient-centered care and strong customer service in interactions.

What You’ll Do

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) serves as a member of the Rehabilitation Services department at ourCare Center.They will assistin the implementation of treatment plansin a long-term care environment designed by the supervising therapist to help patients develop, regain or maintain their ability to perform daily activities.

• Teaches residents skills/techniquesregarding how to use adaptive equipment for participating in activities.
• Demonstrates proficiency in current treatment techniques to include: manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education and training, use of electrotherapeutic modalities as appropriate.
• Observes, records and reports to therapist the conditions, reactions and responses to procedures and programs implemented and progress toward established goals.
• Reviews each patient chart prior to scheduled services.
• Works under the supervision of staff Occupational Therapists and in coordination with other members of the Rehabilitative Services department andthe Care Centerteam.
• Responsibilities include aiding in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Documents and completes each resident’s notes and records charges in the system in accordance with department standard practices.
• Uses patient-centered approach in provision of care and continually exhibits a customer service approach in all interactions to include patients, residents, family, staff, facility administration, and physicians.

Who We’re Looking For

• Must be a graduate of an accredited program and must have successfully passed or be scheduled for the board examination.
• Requires Occupational Therapy Assistant certification and licensure through the State of Colorado.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required upon initial employment and must be maintained throughout GRHD employment.
• Minimum of 1 year of practical experience in a Rehabilitative Services setting preferred.
• Long term care experience in a similar role preferred.
