Job summary

Seven Oaks Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Columbia, SC is seeking a COTA PRN to provide occupational therapy services under supervision. You will work with a dedicated rehab team to assess and treat residents, document progress, and ensure compliance with state guidelines.

Requirements include a BA or Associate degree in Occupational Therapy, and an active state license. SNF experience is preferred. We offer a flexible PRN schedule and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate with a BA or Associate degree in Occupational Therapy recognized by AOTA.
• Holds current state license/registration as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive OT treatment under supervision.
• Identify appropriate patients and refer to rehab as needed.
• Document daily participation and progress; obtain OTR co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders for treatments, re-certifications and discharges.
• Attend facility meetings and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Schedule patients and complete billing logs for OT services.
• Cover colleagues' caseload and supervise junior staff when needed.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality; adhere to policies.

Qualifications:

1.Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Occupational Therapy that is recognized by the AOTA. 2.Holds current license and/or registration in the state (as applicable).

• SNF experience preferred

Job Responsibilities:

1.Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines.

• Assist OT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress note in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the OTR.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing logs and bill patients ethically and accurately for occupational therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior COTA staff members or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationship with co-workers, facility staff, patients and patient families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or occupational therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and/or community as needed.
• Comply with all facility policies and procedures.
• Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours, and project a professional image at all times.
• Adhere to productivity requirements, complete productivity reports and submit in a timely manner.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers
• Perform all other duties assigned by the department supervisor, lead therapist or regional manager.
• Comply with all Facility HR policies re: lunch, overtime, sick and time off notification.
• Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral policies and procedures.
