Job summary

Clayton Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Clayton, NC is hiring a PRN Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join a dedicated rehab team in a long-term care setting. You will work under supervision of an OTR to provide comprehensive occupational therapy, assess patients, and help with referrals and care planning.

Requirements include an accredited OT degree recognized by AOTA and NC licensure. SNF experience is preferred; flexible schedule and competitive benefits are offered to

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited university with a BA or Associate degree in Occupational Therapy recognized by the AOTA.
• Holds current license/registration in the state of North Carolina (as applicable).
• SNF experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive OT treatment to patients under the supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines.
• Identify appropriate patients and refer them to rehab as needed.
• Document daily participation and progress, obtaining the OTR co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders for treatments, re-certifications and discharges are obtained.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as directed by Supervisor.
• Supervise junior COTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education on patient care or therapy services as needed.

Qualifications:

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines.
• Assist OT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress note in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the OTR.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing logs and bill patients ethically and accurately for occupational therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior COTA staff members or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationship with co-workers, facility staff, patients and patient families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or occupational therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and/or community as needed.
• Comply with all facility policies and procedures.
• Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours, and project a professional image at all times.
• Adhere to productivity requirements, complete productivity reports and submit in a timely manner.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers
• Perform all other duties assigned by the department supervisor, lead therapist or regional manager.
• Comply with all Facility HR policies re: lunch, sick and time off notification.
• Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral policies and procedures.
