Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is seeking a dedicated costume assistant on-site in Florida. The role involves preparing a large costume inventory, dressing performers, and performing sewing repairs to keep outfits in top condition.

Responsibilities include cleaning, organizing, and inventory, plus occasional stagehand duties during shows. A flexible schedule with nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Previous experience with sewing and clothing alterations required.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Good communication, organizational, and follow-up skills with Stage Managers and Supervisors.
• Prior work experience with costumes preferred.
• Flexible schedule including opening, mid- and closing shifts; nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather.
• Position engages in extensive walking, including transitioning between indoor and outdoor environments.
• Position engages in frequent standing during the work shift and climbing/ascending heights repeatedly.
• Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bending floor‑to‑waist, reaching overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing) repeatedly throughout the day.
• Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes.
• Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time in a fast‑paced environment and stay on task throughout the day.
