Job summary

Stew Leonard's is seeking a Costume Character for a part-time hourly position in Paramus, NJ. You will entertain customers and their children while they shop, wearing a costume and engaging with guests throughout store hours.

Must be at least 16 years old and possess good oral communication. The role involves attending birthday parties and special events, with duties to maintain safety and customer-friendly interactions.

• Adhere to all health, sanitation, and safety regulations
• Other duties, as assigned

Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Stew’s earned its nickname, the “Disneyland of Dairy Stores” because of its country-fair atmosphere, with costumed characters and animated entertainment throughout the store that keep children entertained while parents shop.

Costume Character

Part-Time Hourly – Estimated pay range $17.50 - $18.00 depending on qualifications and experience

Must be at least 16 years and older

Position Description:

The Costume Character provides entertainment to customers and their children while they shop.

• Wear the required costume and walk the store floor greeting children and customers
• Provide high fives and photo opportunities, at the request of the child(ren)
• Be aware of reaction of child(ren)
• Attend each scheduled birthday party
• Attend special events, as required (Halloween Trick-or-Treating, Egg Hunt, Christmas Tree lighting, etc.)
• Adhere to all health, sanitation, and safety regulations
• Other duties, as assigned

Working Conditions:
