Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking an Accountant - Costing to strengthen our Buffalo manufacturing finance team. You will contribute to standard costing, monthly closes, and cost-analytic activities that inform business decisions across complex production processes.

The role requires manufacturing experience, strong Excel and ERP skills, and a mindset for continuous improvement within a hybrid work environment in Buffalo, NY.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications proficiently.
• 1+ years of experience using an ERP system or for accounting or financial processes.
• 1+ years of cost accounting exposure, knowledge or expertise.

Responsibilities

• Drive reliable and meaningful standard costing within the plant including daily costing updates for manufactured and purchased parts.
• Execute the annual cost roll for material, labor and overhead.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Complete and review monthly account reconciliations and financial performance analysis.
• Execute and improve close processes and the environment of control.
• Monitor processes and controls relating to financial transactions and implement improvements with leadership.
