Job summary

Withum, a national tax and advisory firm, seeks a Cost Segregation Associate to join our Forensic & Valuation Services. Hybrid in-office schedule (3 days/week) across multiple U.S. offices, not remote, and collaboration with engineers and tax professionals to maximize client value.

You will review depreciation, assist with site visits, prepare reports, and stay current on tax guidance while growing a specialized expertise in real estate assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Real Estate, or related field.
• Pursuit of CPA, EA, CCSP, or other relevant certification is a plus.
• Experience in public accounting, taxation, engineering consulting, construction, valuation, or real estate is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost segregation studies for various real estate properties.
• Review construction cost documentation, depreciation schedules, and asset records.
• Analyze asset classifications under tax guidance and depreciation rules.
• Assist with site visits and document building systems and assets.
• Prepare workpapers, calculations, and schedules for reports.
• Research federal tax regulations and depreciation methodologies.
• Support senior team members with data gathering and project execution.
• Coordinate with clients to obtain necessary information.
• Maintain engagement files and ensure timely, accurate work.
• Learn cost segregation methodologies and industry best practices.
