Responsibilities

• Prepare project forecasts, cost analyses, risk assessments, and cost-to-complete projections.
• Track changes, budgets, procurement activity, and billing delays.
• Review invoices, requisitions, accruals, and financial documentation for coding and budget alignment.
• Partner with project leadership and corporate accounting teams.

Cost / Project Accountant - Construction Management Firm
$140K-$145K All-In | West Palm Beach, FL | 4-5 Days In Office

A growing construction management firm is seeking a Cost / Project Accountant to join its West Palm Beach office. This role will serve as the primary local accounting and financial resource while partnering closely with project leadership and the larger accounting team based in New York.

This is a strong opportunity for someone with project accounting, cost accounting, construction accounting, or construction management accounting experience who is comfortable operating independently and taking ownership of project financials, billing, forecasting, reporting, and cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary financial and accounting partner for assigned construction projects

• Manage monthly owner billings, schedules of values, lien waivers, and other contractual billing requirements

• Coordinate monthly close, project forecasting, billing, cost reporting, and operational finance reporting

• Prepare project forecasts, cost analyses, risk assessments, and cost-to-complete projections

• Track owner change orders, subcontract changes, budget revisions, procurement activity, commitments, and billing delays

• Review invoices, requisitions, accruals, and financial documentation for coding accuracy, compliance, and budget alignment

• Partner with project leadership, operations, purchasing, preconstruction, executive leadership, and the corporate accounting team

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant accounting, project accounting, cost accounting, project controls, or operational finance experience preferred

• Construction management, general contracting, real estate development, or construction accounting experience strongly preferred

• Strong understanding of project accounting, billing, forecasting, WIP reporting, cost-to-complete analysis, and project financial reporting

• CMiC and/or Textura experience highly preferred

• Candidates outside of construction may be considered with strong CMiC, Textura, or comparable construction/project accounting systems experience

• Ability to understand project contracts, budgets, schedules, change orders, and related financial documentation

• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and Excel skills

Comfortable working independently as the primary accounting professional in the West Palm Beach office
