Job summary

Mars, Incorporated in Chicago is seeking a Manager, Cost Modelling to build and scale commercial capabilities in cost modelling and category intelligence. You will partner with Sourcing Managers to create robust models and tools that drive value leadership across Prime spend.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience in packaging/raw materials, and a track record of delivering cost-saving insights in a matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 3+ years in Procurement, Finance, Cost Engineering, or Supply Chain.
• Strong procurement, cost analytics, and data synthesis skills.
• Experience in packaging, raw materials, or external manufacturing within CPG/FMCG or consulting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop should-cost models for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to feed the savings pipeline and support supplier negotiations.
• Digitize cost-modeling capabilities with digital tools and templates.
• Evaluate internal specifications against industry standards to identify value-engineering opportunities.
• Calculate yields, scrap, labor, overhead, and supplier margins to determine cost baselines and fair pricing.
• Translate cost insights into actionable recommendations for product roadmaps, cross-functional teams, and sourcing strategies.
• Provide analytical support for long-range forecasting, capacity planning, cash delivery initiatives, and procurement negotiations.
• Drive continuous improvement across materials, processes, and systems to ensure cost-optimised and sustainable manufacturing.
