Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor - Data Center Construction
Join Turner & Townsend as a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor supporting construction cost services for our clients. We seek a driven individual who aligns with our purpose and values.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on strategies, manage vendor prequalification, assess proposals and bids, make recommendations, chair bid interviews, and oversee appointment processes.
- Develop project estimates covering construction, fees, direct costs, review estimates from junior team members, present to clients, and provide value engineering and risk assessments.
- Establish and review cost reports and forecasts, manage project budgets, maintain risk registers, and host meetings with project teams and vendors.
- Oversee cost control by reviewing payment applications, liaising with project managers on contractor entitlements, managing change orders, and resolving contractual disputes.
- Monitor invoicing processes, benchmark performance, and handle final accounting and post-contract audits.
- Conduct post-contract reviews, develop handover procedures, and utilize bid analysis and cost estimating software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
- RICS accreditation or pursuing it is advantageous.
- Experience supporting medium to large construction projects; consultancy experience preferred.
- Knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and engineering aspects.
- Strong communication skills.
